2023 WEEK 3 RANKINGS
Another week and another batch of injuries to deal with for league managers. Starting with the Sunday games, Joe Burrow re-tweaked his calf and could miss some time. Saquon Barkley sparined his ankle and will be out for at least 3 weeks. Anthony Richardson is in the NFL Concussion Protocol and might not be ready for Week 3. Wide Receivers Jaylen Waddle and Davante Adams are also in the concussion protocol after exiting this week's game early. Aaron Jones did not play this week due to a hamstring injury. Is that enough grim injury news for you? Just when it seemed like the carnage was over, Nick Chubb suffered a devastating knee injury on Monday night and is likely out for the year.

For those keeping score at home, that's 25% (10 out of 40) of this year's keepers that have either missed a game or are in danger of missing games in Week 3: Travis Kelce, Davante Adams, Aaron Rodgers, Jaylen Waddle, Joe Burrow, Nick Chubb, Austin Ekeler, Cooper Kupp and Mark Andrews.

How did all this effect our rankings? Not much. Wrath of Kahn jumps 2 spots to move to number one, pushing Stick Rock and Mel Kiper down the rankings. But otherwise, everything else remained unchanged.

Detailed rankings are as follows...

# 1 - Wrath of Khan
Jimmy cruised to an easy and uneventful victory over '69 Olds this week. Justin Herbert (26.2), Rashaad White (21.3) and Gabe Davis (21.2) were the week's high score. We'll see how long they can hold on to the top spot as the other teams just behind them on our rankings look much deeper at the skill positions while there should be some concern with Justin Fields' slow start (QB21).
#2 Big Rock 2X
Stick Rock had an impressive outing in Week 2 putting up 195 points. And how was his performance rewarded? With a demotion to number 2 in our rankings. How is that possible? I have no idea, but if I were to guess it probably has to do with the injury status of Joe Burrow and Austin Ekeler. Kirk Cousins (37.56), Justin Jefferson (24.9) and Jake Elliot (13) pretty much put this game to rest early on Thursday night.

#3 Mel Kipers Best Available
Mel Kipers BA is 0-2, but the rankings still love them. Pete lost a close game to the suddenly potent Skoal Bandits this week. Lamar Jackson (26.88), TJ Hockenson (25.6) and Cedee Lamb (25) were the high scorers, but unfortunaltely the Giants D/ST (-5) turd show cost them the Week 2 victory.
#4 (tie) '69 Olds
'69 Olds had RB concerns coming into the season and that was on display this week as Alexander Mattison (4.9) and Joshua Kelley (3.9) couldn't get anything going. The QB's were awesome as Jalen Hurts (28.22) and Patrick Mahomes (25.2) delivered. Ray has a lot of work to do. The non-QB guys in the starting lineup are not performing and there is no help on the bench. Of the 16 non-QB players on their roster, none of them scored more than 12 points in Week 2. This could get ugly fast.

#4 (tie) - Springfield Flanders
Flanders had another disappointing week, but cheer up! You have the Ghostbusters this week who lead the league in Points Against with an average of 165 points/game. Jared Goff (28.92) was the only player to crack 20 points. This is another team that has no help coming on the bench (well maybe in Week 4 when Kamara comes back from suspension). Amazingly, the WR Trio of Diggs/Brown/Chase COMBINED for just 28.6! Prediction: Those 3 will combine for 90 points this week.
#6 (tie) Black Ghostbusters
The Ghostbusters had a stress-free week knowing their game was over once the Thursday Night game ended and they were already in a 75 point hole. This lineup is suffering from a lack of touchdowns. The usage is there as most of the lineup put up decent numbers, but there isn't a single difference maker on this roster through 2 weeks. Jordan Love (26.34), Davante Adams (20.4) and Tony Pollard (19.9) led the team in scoring.

#6 (tie) Milford Football Team
Of all the teams in our poll, MFT is one of the few who's season is coming together as planned. All 4 keepers produced this week, with Josh Allen (29.66), CMC (23.5), Garrett Wilson (18.3) and Mark Andrews (15.5) delivering in Week 2. 5th Round pick Geno Smith added an additional 27.12 points. This team may need to get deeper at RB, but they have plenty of WR's to trade to get any needed help.
#8 Peeping Tomlins
Peeping Tomlins had a big week, yet the polls don't seem to be impressed by his 2-0 start. Russell Wilson (33.92), Devonta Smith (25.1) and Steelers D/ST (23) all came up big in Week 2. The Nick Chubb injury is a devastating blow but he still has Kenny Walker III, Joe Mixon and Kyren Williams on the roster.

#9 Skoal Bandits
Skoal Bandits won this week and it wasn't a fluke! Their 170.92 point total was only surpassed once in 2022 by the Bandits, so things are trending up. Daniel Jones (34.74), Tee Higgins (28.9) and Tyler Locket (25.9) were the high scorers in a lineup that had solid contributions throughout.
#10 - Dark Helmet
Tua couldn't repeat his Week 1 performance and it cost Dan in his game against MFT. Saquon Barkley (27.2), Deebo Samuel (22.1) and Marquise Brown (17.4) played well, but the QBs only combined for 30.24 points in this one. Helmet has some scrambling to do now that Barkley is going to miss a month. Hopefully Gus Edwards usage will rise with JK Dobbins now out for the season.
