It doesn’t happen often, but the team that was the best from Week 1 right up through Week 17 won the 2024 KAOS Cup. And it wasn’t even close. Mel Kiper’s Best Available saved there best for last, putting together 2 of the 4 highest scores the league has seen this season in consecutive weeks. How good was it? They came within 23 points of scoring 500 in the Championship Game. Jaden Daniels alone scored 83 points over the course of the Championship Final, with Lamar Jackson (61.9) and Tee Higgins (60) scoring enough total points that would have won them the Draft Lottery Final by themselves. Jahmyr Gibbs chipped in 53 points of his own just for good measure. Now comes the most difficult part of the season for Peter, trying to decide 4 keepers among: LaMar Jackson, Jayden Daniels, De’Von Achane, Jahmyr Gibbs, CeeDee Lamb, Brian Thomas Jr and Brock Bower.
The unfortunate victim of this bloodbath were the Ghostbusters. It’s not that they played poorly. Joe Burrow (70), Bucky Irving (42) and Jamarr Chase (41) put up enough points that would have beat any other team in the league, just not the one they happened to be playing. Ghostbusters rode an incredible string of luck to the #1 seed this season, but no amount of luck would have been enough to overcome the points-tsunami MKBA put on them. Congratulations to Peter on his well-earned championship.
Now on to Financial matters. MKBA and Ghostbusters take home most of the money this year, with Jared picking up $50 for the consolation game win over Rocky. I have received payment from Jim, Rocky and Glenn, but still need $100 from Ray, Craig, CJ and Dan. Jared owes $50. If it's easier for you, you can make payment via Paypal or Venmo by clicking the link.
League payout is as follows:

Now that the season is over, let's take a look at each teams prospects heading into 2024:

This years best team will go into next season as the pre-draft #1 as well. As mentioned above, there are many options for keepers, but just keep things simple:

-
Lamar Jackson
-
Jayden Daniels
-
Jahmyr Gibbs
-
CeeDee Lamb

No need to mess with success. Maybe try to trade Bowers, Achane or BTJ pre-draft for a few extra picks.

In any other year, they probably win the KAOS Cup easily. Another no-brainer heading into 2025:

-
Jamar Chase
-
Joe Burrow
-
Amon-Ra St Brown
-
Josh Jacobs or Bucky Irving

That would be a nice start to any draft.

2024's all auto-draft team played well right up until the playoffs started. This team had some nice late draft luck and picked up a keeper QB on the waiver wire:

-
Saquon Barkley
-
Trey McBride
-
Bo Nix
-
James Cook

It's time to let go of the Tua dream.

Once again, Glenn drafts a middling roster and ends up in the playoffs. Next years draft strategy needs to include drafting a good QB1 earlier and not reaching for a QB2 in a premium round.

Puka Nakua
-
AJ Brown
-
Terry McLaurin
-
Joe Mixon

I came thisclose to naming Kicker Brandon Aubrey the 4th keeper!

This team is awesome. No changes need to be made other than try to find a way to keep all 20 guys because they are all the best fantasy players at their positions.

Perfect season. No notes!

Jared hung around the fringes of playoff contention all year, but did not have that one go-to player he could depend on week in and week out. Justin Jefferson should have been that guy but he suffered a midseason swoon.

-
Justin Jefferson
-
Jared Goff
-
Kyren Williams

I debated putting Tyrone Tracey or Nico Collins as the 4th keeper, but there should be better options available in round 4.

The Bandits improved this season and rose up from the bottom of the league in 2024. They'll need to find more scoring next year to win more consistently.

-
Bijan Robinson
-
Ladd McConkey
-
Baker Mayfield

Marvin Harrison could be a 4th keeper based on reputation, but I just did not see the talent this year to make him a top 15 WR.

Kahn's season was doomed from the start as none of the keepers played up to their abilities. Tyreke Hill and Travis Kelce were both just shadows of their former selves.

-
Derrick Henry
-
Drake London
-
Chase Brown

Hill and Kelce could be potential keepers, but it may be time to move on.

Speaking of moving on, once again the 2-QB strategy failed dismally. Patrick Mahomes may have entered the good NFL QB/Bad Fantasy QB zone this season. A late season surge kept him from being a total disappointment.

-
Jalen Hurts
-
Jaxon Smith-Njigba
-
Kenneth Walker III
-
Isaiah Pacheco

And last and certainly least, we have the worst team in KAOS History. Injuries derailed CJ right out of the box (CMC Week 1) and it just got worse from there.

-
Josh Allen

I can certainly make a case for keeping James Conner, Jordan Love, Zay Flowers or Davante Adams, but MKBA and the Ghostbusters are throwing back some premium talent that would immediately upgrade the roster.
