WEEK 12 RANKINGS

Designer (11).jpeg

Two games to go and instead of the playoff races tightening up, we seem to be going in the opposite direction. The Ghostbusters have put a strangle-hold on the #1 seed with a convincing victory over former #1 MKBA. They lead the overall standings by 1 game and now hold the head-to-head tiebreaker. A victory this week over '69 Olds or next week against Skoal Bandits will clinch the top seed for the luckiest team in KAOS this season. Dark Helmet picked a good time to get hot as they scored 191 points this week to put some distance between 5th-place Flanders (56 points) and 6th-place Tomlins (81 points). The bad news is only 2 weeks remain for Glenn and Jared to close the gap on Helmet. The good news is Stick Rock's spot is back in play. Rock has only averaged 126 points in weeks 10 and 11, dropping them to 4th place while allowing Glenn (52 back)  and Jared (77) to dream about catching them.

Wrath of Kahn might have finally run out of gas. After patching together a competitive lineup early in the season, Kahn's 111 point performance could not have come at a worse time as they now find themselves over 108 points back. Skoal Bandits refuse to die as they pass Kahn in the standings. But time is running short and they also need to pickup 106 points while leapfrogging 3 teams in the standings to grab a playoff spot. Finally, '69 Olds defeated Milford Football Team in a game that would have felt right at home being played in London at 9 AM EST. Nobody really watched and fewer cared. Both teams are over 200 points behind in the standings and are just waiting for this season to mercifully end.

1. Ghostbusters (Last Week #2)

Are the Ghostbusters peaking at the right time or too early? They have put together back-to-back 200-point weeks and won their 8th game in a row with the easy victory over MKBA. The trio of Tayson Hill (44.52), Amon Ra St. Brown (38.7) and Matt Stafford (36.8) scored more than 2 teams this week.

2 . Mel Kipers Best Available (Last Week #1)

Unfortunate timing this week for MKBA as their 171 point total would have been enough to beat most other teams in Week 12, just not the team on their schedule. Tee Higgins (31.8), Brock Bowers (31.3) and De'Von Achane (20.5) were the high scorers in a losing effort.

3. Dark Helmet (Last Week # 4)

A big week for Helmet as their 191.2 point total puts them in the three seed and opens up a comfortable margin between them and the 5th and 6th place team. Bo Nix (36.78), Saquon Barkley (34.8) and Tua Taovailoa (30.52) gave them an easy win over Flanders. Dan's bold zero-QB draft strategy is paying off big time with waiver wire find Bo Nix, who is currently the #7 rated QB.

4. Stick Rock (Last Week #3)

Stick Rock continues to slide down the rankings with a 123-point effort in Week 11. With 2 Weeks to go, they still have a decent lead in the point standings. But another week like the previous 2 could see it evaporate.  Cooper Kupp (30.6) and Aaron Rodgers (20.06) were the only players to score more than 13 points. This team is in desperate need of a QB and another receiver if they hope to do anything in the playoffs.

5. Springfield Flanders (Last Week #5)

A huge MNF game for Joe Mixon (38.3) have given Flanders a much needed boost in the standings. Looking at a potential 70 point deficit heading into the game, Glenn now finds himself within shouting distance of the 3 and 4 seeds. Justin Herbert (28.38) and Puka Nacua (25.3) were the other high scorers.

6. Peeping Tomlin's (Last Week #7)

Jared bounced back nicely after 2 low scoring weeks with an 156.68 effort in Week 11 to keep their playoff hopes alive. Jared Goff (43.58), Jameis Winston (31.6) and Chris Boswell (24) led the way. Wait a minute, did I just type those three names as leading scorers???? Goff - a journeyman QB, Winston - a backup QB for the majority of his career and Boswell - a kicker. Maybe Jared's luck is about to turnaround.

7. Skoal Bandits (Last Week # 8)

Bandits had a good scoring week, but they'll need two great ones if they want to crash the postseason party. Anthony Richardson (30.08), Sam Darnold (27.64) and David Montgomery (24.5) were the high scorers. Bandits find themselves 106 points out of the final playoff spot.

8. Wrath of Khan (Last Week #6)

A low scoring game for Kahn when he could least afford it. Chase Brown (19.3), Tyreek Hill (19.1) and George Pickens (16.9) led an otherwise lack-luster lineup this week. Jim is now 108 points out of a playoff spot, dropping 75 points in just one week. Hopefully he can make up that deficit over the final two games.

9. '69 Olds (Last Week #9)

'69 Olds broke into the win column for the 4th time this year! Really, they have 4 wins. I double checked! Patrick Mahomes (21.84), JSN (21.8) and Jalen Hurts (18.74) led them to the easy victory. For any contenders looking to fortify their lineups to push them over the top, Ray has some intriguing pieces that he may trade for a keeper. Perfect spot for a 3 for 1 swap to strengthen a contenders depth.

10. Milford Football Team (Last Week #10)

I can't believe this team is STILL having trouble scoring. The QBs are Great - Jordan Love (22.24) and Josh Allen (25.98) along with the return of CMC (14.6). But none of it has made a difference. They just cannot get any consistent play from their other stars. I saw that CJ started Ricky Pearsall and he got zero points. I had to check the player news just to make sure he did not get shot again. You will all be happy to know he didn't.
