WEEK 5 RANKINGS

Four Weeks are in the books and for the most part our rankings have remained consistent, with two notable exceptions. Ray and CJ flip-flopped spots this week, with MFT moving all the way up to # 3 and Ray tumbling down to the #8 spot. The other was a little more inexplicable with Jim dropping 3 spots from #2 to #5. It could be due to Wrath's close loss to Mel Kiper's BA.  Or maybe Jim's roster being top heavy with star players at QB1/RB1/TE but with little depth on his bench. It could present some challenging lineup decisions with bye weeks now starting.

One of the unusual aspects to this season through four weeks has been the insane amount of high point totals we have seen. So far, there have been eight individual performances where a player has put up more than 40 points! Last year (through four weeks) that total was only four. Even more unusual was all of last year's +40 performances came from the QB position. This year only two of the 40+ games were from a QB (Josh Allen both times). The position breakdown for the remaining six were split evenly among RB (3) and WR (3). I think a lot of this is due to the sloppy defense we have seen so far. It'll be interesting to see if this trend continues.

Now on to our rankings...

#1 Big Rock 2X

I know he is 4-0, but when two of your top three scorers for the week are your D/ST (21) and your Kicker (18), I'm calling bullshit. Did you really think Raheem Mostert (5.5) was going to score 45 points every week? Prediction: He won't score 45 points over the next 4 weeks combined.

#2 Mel Kipers Best Available

Pete squeaks out a close victory (154-150) over Wrath of Kahn this week. Lamar Jackson (32) looks like he is all the way back from last season's injury concerns. Derrick Henry (27) also had a throwback game. They'll need to carry this team as the big name WR's Waddle (8.6) and Lamb (14.8) have been putting up pedestrian numbers.

#3 Milford Football Team

A nice bounce back week for CJ as he follows up last week's 109 turd-fest with a 257 point outburst. CMC (49.7), Josh Allen (45.5) and Nico Collins (37.8) were all he needed to outscore Ray this week. As a matter of fact, that trio (133 points) scored more than four entire starting lineups!

#4 - Springfield Flanders

That's two in a row for Flanders. AJ Brown (40.5), Stefon Diggs (38) and Brock Purdy (23) led the way in this one. Alvin Kamara had 21 points in his return from suspension to give the RB position a lift. If the WRs keep producing and he can get anything out of the QB tandem of Purdy and Goff, Glenn could be on his way to a playoff spot.

# 5 - Wrath of Khan

Wrath of Kahn lost a heartbreaker this week as the RBs continue to underwhelm. There is talent there among Breece Hall and Rachaad White, but they just don't get enough carries to be trusted. The QB's (Fields - 35.9 and Herbert 25.3) did their part, while the Chargers D/ST chipped in another 16. Maybe Travis Kelce needs to spend more time on the practice field and less time with Taylor Swift, his podcast and every single commercial I see on Sunday afternoons. Surprisingly, he has only scored two TD's this season.

#6 (tie) Black Ghostbusters

Speaking of not scoring TD's, Ghostbusters have made that an art form. The non-QB players this week scored a COMBINED 1 touchdown. For the season, this lineup has produced only 7 TDs, with Davante Adams accounting for 3 of them. Brutal. I have become the Bill Belichik of KAOS.

#6 (Tie) Peeping Tomlins

A bid for a 4th staright win came up short against cousin Rocky. Jared looked like he was in good shape going into Monday Night's game, but the Giants were so putrid on both sides of the ball that Lockett nor KWIII had to do much for the win. The QBs came alive in this one as Anthony Richardson (33) and Russell Wilson (28) put up big numbers. RB Kyren Williams (28.7) had a big game as well.

#8 '69 Olds

If I am the Bill Belichik of KAOS, Ray is the Los Angeles Angels. The Angels just wasted 6 years of Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani's prime with nothing to show for it. Ray is about to do the same with Patrick Mahomes (15), Jalen Hurts (29) and Cooper Kupp (DNP-PUP).

#9 Skoal Bandits

The Week Two 172 point outburst is starting to look like an aberration. This week they scored a total of 95.68 points. The QBs COMBINED for 12.18 points. That's almost as bad as my QB splits from last season. How bad is it? the defense (Bal D/ST - 20) was the high scorer for the week.

#10  - Dark Helmet

For our 2nd installment of "Whatever Happened To Dan Hart", I will now talk about Dan's childhood acting days. He got his start on an Underwood Deviled Ham commercial (see clip below). A Hollywood casting director saw Dan's performance and hired him to be cousin Oliver on the last season of The Brady Bunch. To this day, Dan still brags about the time he finger-banged Cindy Brady back in 1974.
