WEEK 7 RANKINGS
.jpeg)
The season is flying by as we come up to the halfway point of the 2024 campaign. The standings have tightened up as half the teams have a 3-3 record after 6 weeks. Mel Kiper's BA leads the Patrick Division with a 5-1 record while The Ghostbusters lead the Adams with an identical 5-1 mark. Stick Rock is only 2-4, but they are leading the points standings by a whopping 163 points over the next closest wild card team! With a few moves, most of the league could improve their playoff odds before time runs out. Since there has been a dearth of trades so far this season, I have come up with a potential proposal for each team that would improve their rosters for a playoff run or put them in better position for the 2025 season.
Mel Kiper's BA - They are currently humming on all cylinders, but they still have some areas that can be improved. The RB depth is there, but with the implosion of the Dolphins offense there is no clear-cut #1 back. Maybe trade some depth for a proven RB that could carry the RB1 load?

MKBA trades: Brian Thomas Jr and Tony Pollard to 69 Olds for Kenneth Walker III. This would give Peter a more reliable RB option. Ray would get some much needed team depth.

Ghostbusters - All the pieces feel like they are in place, but a little more stability is needed at the RB2 spot. Breece Hall has been mostly good but the Jets Offense is a mess.

Ghostbusters trades: Breece Hall, Rico Dowdle, Devonta Smith to Dark Helmet for Saquon Barkley and Michael Pittman.

Stick Rock - The RB and WR play has been stellar, but the QB position could be improved.

Stick Rock trades: Geno Smith, Alvin Kamara and Garrett Wilson to '69 Olds for Jalen Hurts and Kenneth Walker III.

Peeping Tomlins - Jared has a ton of WRs and his roster is also top-heavy with Pittsburgh Steelers. They could trade injured Nico Collins to a non-contender get help now.

Peeping Tomlins trades: Nico Collins and Najee Harris to MFT for James Conner and Rome Odunze.

Dark Helmet - Dan hasn't been showing much interest in this fantasy football team, so any proposal will need to get his attention.

Dark Helmet trades: RB D'Andre Swift to anyone who gives him a 30-pack of Miller Lite.

Springfield Flanders - Glenn is dying for a TE. Through 6 weeks he is getting an average of 4.1 points per game. That is the lowest performing slot in any lineup in our league including Defenses and Kickers!

Flanders trades: Travis Etienne and Terry McLauren to Skoal Bandits for Evan Engram and Brandon Aiyuk.

Wrath of Khan - Jimmy already took one swing giving up a lot of trade capital, but he could still use some help at QB.

Khan trades: Kirk Cousins and Jameson Williams to Skoal Bandits for Baker Mayfield.

Skoal Bandits - Since it makes so much sense, I am saying it again. The proposal I have for Flanders needs to get made. To add some variety, I'll change some of the players, but the positional swaps remain the same:

Bandits trade: Tucker Kraft and Brando Aiyuk to Flanders for Amari Cooper and Braelon Allen.

Milford Football Team - MFT is currently four games back and -174 points fro a playoff spot. It might be time to start acquiring assets for next year.

MFT Trades: Davante Adams, Kareem Hunt and Rome Odunze to Wrath of Khan for Tyreke Hill and Diontae Johnson.

'69 Olds - Another team that is a distant -180 points back in the standings might want to look towards next year. I don't think Patrick Mahomes is a keeper, but he could help someone win a championship this year.

'69 Olds trades: Patrick Mahomes and DK Metcalf to Stick Rock for Malik Nabers.

After going back and re-reading all these trade proposals, I don't like them nearly as much as when I was putting them together. However, at the very least these could be used as trade starters for anyone who is looking to make a move. Use this to get an idea of what type of players other teams might need and what it would take to get the players you covet. Now on to our rankings.

1 . Mel Kipers Best Available (Last Week #1)

The best team in the league through six weeks rolled to an easy victory this week with a 60-point romp over '69 Olds. The QBs (Jayden Daniels -24 and Lamar Jackson -20) continue to dominate while kicker Jake Bates chipped in 19 points.
2. Ghostbusters (Last Week #2)

Ghostbusters are by far the luckiest team this season. Their 5-1 record could easily be 1-5. Another Monday Night nail-biter ended once agin in their favor. Breece Hall (22), Joe Burrow (21) and Devonta Smith (17) led the Week 6 scoring.
3. Stick Rock (Last Week #3)

And here we have the un-luckiest team in the league that actually won a close game this week. Needing 10 points from WR Garrett Wilson on Monday night, the Jet receiver ended any suspense early with a 24-point effort. CJ Stroud (24) and George Kittle (22) led a balanced attack in their win over Dark Helmet.
4. Peeping Tomlin's (Last Week #4)

The Tomlin's rode a roller coaster of emotions Sunday Night as they entered the Giants-Bengals game with a long shot chance of winning, down 14-points to Flanders. The only way Jared could win was if Tyrone Tracy (22) could outscore Wan'Dale Robinson by 14 points. And with 2 minutes to go, Tracy did it. But Robinson caught a 12-yard pass on the 2nd to last play of the game and Daniel Jones throws a pick to hand the Tomlin's a tough luck loss. Justin Fields (23) and Najee Harris (21) helped keep things close.
5. Dark Helmet (Last Week # 5)

The good news? Helmet scored 165 points this week. The bad? their opponent scored 179. Chris Godwin (37), Bo Nix (24) and Deebo Samuel (22) were the high scorers this week. If Bo Nix and Daniel Jones can provide consistent scoring from the QB spots, this team can stay in playoff contention.
6. Springfield Flanders (Last Week #7)
As mentioned above, Flanders eked out a close victory this week with a 155-point outburst. Brock Purdy (31), Joe Mixon (28) and AJ Brown (23) led a team that is getting healthier. If they can hold on until the rest of their injured players return, they should challenge for one of the wild card spots.
7. Wrath of Khan (Last Week #8)

Wrath's up and down season is back on the upswing with an easy victory this week led by rookie QB Caleb Williams (36). Derrick Henry came up big with a 26-point effort and new acquisition Drake London chipped in 19. Jim is 2-0 against the bandits this year and 1-3 against everyone else.
8. Skoal Bandits (Last Week # 6)

Just when they started to get on a roll, Bandits submit this craptacular effort. Anthony Richardson left the game before he had the chance to register a single point and Marvin Harrison suffered a concussion, also before he could score. Baker Mayfield (34), Bijan Robinson (25) and David Montgomery (21) had encouraging outings, but you can't win when your QB/WR combine for zero points.
10. '69 Olds (Last Week #9)

Things are getting bleak for Ray-Ray as 69 Olds failed to crack 100 points for the 2nd time this season. Jalen Hurts (25) and KW III (20) had good weeks. Sadly, the rest of the team COMBINED for 53 points! A bright spot could be the 2nd consecutive good outing for TE Mark Andrews.
