WEEK 2 RANKINGS
.jpeg)
Week 1 is in the books! Just like everyone planned during draft preparations, the two most important positions that had the biggest impact were… Defense and Kicking?!?!? That’s right, we had 6 kickers surpass 20 points for the week. Jake Moody (26), Chris Boswell (26), Blake Grupe (22) and Brandon Aubrey (21) all excelled as their offensives struggled to find the end zone.
We also saw three D/ST’s surpass 19 points as the Bears (26) Vikings (25) and Cowboys (19) all had big weeks. Only the Bears managed to help their team to victory this week as Flanders rode them to a tight victory over Stick Rock (who had the Cowboys D/ST). MFT came up short in their game despite the Vikings’ barrage.
In another oddity, sometimes fantasy success is based on scheduling luck. Rocky had the second highest scoring total this week. Sadly, he had the misfortune of playing the highest scoring team and took the L against the only team that could have beaten him. On the other end of the spectrum, the Ghostbusters had the 2nd lowest point total of the week but were fortunate to go up against Wrath of Kahn and their league low 101 points. That is the only team Ghostbusters could have defeated.

Now that we got those rarities out of the way, let’s turn to something more common; injuries. Week 1 had plenty of them and some of the game’s biggest names will miss some time. MFT was especially hit hard with Jordan Love’s knee injury expected to keep him out 3-6 weeks, while CMC did not suit up for his Monday Night game with a calf/achilles that could take a few weeks to heal.
Springfield Flanders also lost 2 starters as Puka Nacua goes to the IR and David Njoku is dealing with a high ankle sprain. Da’Von Achane (MKBA), KW III (Tomlins) and Jake Ferguson (Tomlins) might also miss a game or two due to an ab injury (KW III) and sprained knee (Ferguson). For those looking to make a trade for players to fill in for anyone lost to injuries, I have included some potential targets in the rankings below of quality players sitting on other team's benches. A complete list of injuries from Week 1 can be found here.
Now on to the rankings:

1. Mel Kipers Best Available (Last Week #5)

The QBs came up big this week as Lamar Jackson (28) and Jayden Daniels (28) delivered on their pre-draft hype while De'Von Achane (23) added a TD with 7 receptions for 76 yards. MKBA led this one from beginning to end.

Trade Assets: QB Derek Carr, RB Tony Pollard, TE Brock Bowers

2. Springfield Flanders (Last Week #8)
Flanders jumped out to a big league early and held on as Rocky made things interesting on Monday Night. Glenn rode a hot D/ST-Kicker tandem that combined for 46 points along with big games from AJ Brown (25) and Joe Mixon (27). They'll need to do some tinkering in Week 2 with Puka Nacua and David Njoku expected to miss the next few weeks.

Trade Assets: QB Justin Herbert, RB Jerome Ford

3. Ghostbusters (Last Week #1)

The Ghostbusters fail to live up to the preseason hype as their fearsome foursome of keepers combined for 43 points. Luckily, Breece Hall (18) did just enough on Monday Night to eke out a Ghostbuster victory despite having the 2nd lowest score of the week. No other player scored more than 16 points.

Trade Assets; QB Matt Stafford, RB James Connor, WR Khalil Shakir.

4. Skoal Bandits (Last Week # 9)

The Bandits break into the win column early in 2024 setting the tone for an expected playoff run. They received a little help when CMC was a late scratch for MFT and CJ had no room to add a player to take his place. The QBs combined for 70 points as Anthony Richardson (32) and Baker Mayfield (38) came up big. Old reliable Mike Evans (23) had a productive week as well.

Trade Assets: RB JK Dobbins, RB Alex Mattison, WR Tyler Lockett

5. Stick Rock (Last Week #4)

Stick Rock trailed most of the weekend, but they were able to make things interesting before eventually falling short on Monday Night. Garrett Wilson (12) got off to a fast start in the 1st quarter, seeing multiple targets early. But the Jets offense struggled in the 2nd half and Brock Purdy did just enough to push Flanders across the finish line. Cooper Kupp (32) had a huge game while CJ Stroud (22), and Alvin Kamara (22) contributed.

Trade Assets: RB Zack Moss, WR Stephon Diggs, WR Jayden Reed

6. Milford Football Team (Last Week #2)

It was a Week 1 to forget as Jordan Love (21) went down on the 2nd to the last play of the game with a knee injury and CMC being ruled out of the MNF game. Josh Allen (35) looks like the best QB in the league and Xavier Worthy (on the bench week 1) the focal point of the Chiefs offense.

Trade Assets: WR Xavier Worthy, Ladd McConkney

7. Dark Helmet (Last Week # 10)

Our only auto-draft team starts the season 1-0! It wasn't pretty, but Deebo Samual (18) had the crafty move of holding on a Jordan Mason TD that called back, then went on to punch the ball into the end zone later on that same drive. That was enough to give them a 1.76 victory over the Tomlins. Saquon Barkley (34) and Tua Tagovailoa (22) contributed to the win.

Trade Assets: WR Chris Godwin, WR Keon Coleman

8. '69 Olds (Last Week #3)

A lackluster start to the season for Ray-Ray as the starting QB duo of Hurts (21) and Mahomes (17) put up middling results. Rhamondre Stevenson (22) and KW III (20) were solid, but the WR's and TE combined for only 19.3 points. Ray will need to hit the waiver wire to upgrade the roster as there isn't a lot of help coming from the bench.

Trade Assets: RB Zamir White, WR Gabe Davis

9. Peeping Tomlin's (Last Week #9)

The Tomlins drop to 0-1 on the season after a lackluster performance in Week 1 that saw no player score more than 17 points. Nico Collins (17), Rachaad White (16) and Justin Jefferson (16) put up solid numbers but they need better production going forward if they hope to compete.

Trade Assets: QB Bo Nix, RB Najee Harris, WR Tank Dell

10. Wrath of Khan (Last Week #8)

A tough start to the season for Kahn as they barely managed to break 100. Luckily he played the only team that gave him a chance at victory. But that dream died when former Wrath of Kahn RB Breece Hall put up 18 points on Monday Night. Tyreek Hill (28) came to play, but the QB duo of Kirk Cousins (8) and Caleb Williams (7) combined for just 15 points. Jahmyr Gibbs (17) had a solid game on Sunday Night. The silver lining could be the bench which was spectacular. The reserves erupted for 137 points, led by Isaiah Likely (28), Jameson Williams (26) and Jordan Mason (23)
Trade Assets: TE Isaiah Likely, RB Jordan Mason, RB Brian Johnson Jr.
