It's August, which can only mean one thing. TIME TO START THINKING ABOUT YOUR KEEPERS!
2022 Keeper Selection Deadline: Wednesday, August 31st at 4:00 PM.
Please be sure to review and/or select your keepers by then. I chose a date after all preseason games have been completed, therefore I will not allow any changes after the deadline.
With that in mind I will try to project each teams keepers for the 2022 Season so that you can better prepare for the draft:
The team keepers below are ranked in reverse draft order..
Springfield Flanders (Last Season: 6-7. Final Ranking #1)
Keepers: Najee Harris (RB), Ja'Marr Chase (WR), Stefon Diggs (WR), Kyle Pitts (TE)
Other Notable Players: Aaron Rodgers (QB), Antonio Gibson (RB), Kareem Hunt (RB), DJ Moore (WR)
Your KAOS 2021 Champions. After a disappointing 2021 regular season, Flanders snuck into the playoffs and got hot during the KAOS CUP Tournament, where they rolled to easy victories over the Ghostbusters and MFT.
Milford Football Team (9-4. #2)
Keepers: Josh Allen (QB), Mark Andrews (TE), CMC (RB)
Other Notable Players: Devonta Smith (WR), Deandre Hopkins (WR), Cam Akers (RB)
CJ went all-in at the deadline to replace injured players Russell Wilson and Derrick Henry and it didn't work. How much better would this team look with those guys at the top of the roster?
Black Ghostbusters (9-4. #3)
Keepers: Travis Kelce (TE) Deebo Samuel (WR), D'Andre Swift (RB), Jonathan Taylor (RB)
Other Notable Players: Davante Adams (WR), Tom Brady (QB), AJ Brown (WR)
2021's biggest disappointment comes back in 2022 looking for revenge. If anyone is interested in dealing for any of the players listed above, send a trade proposal. Bidding for any player on my roster not named Jonathan Taylor starts with a 6th round pick.
Big Rock 2X (8-5. #4)
Keepers: Austin Ekeler (RB,), Justin Jefferson (WR),Aaron Jones (RB), Joe Burrow (QB)
Other Notable Players: Amon-Ra St. Brown (WR), Terry McLaurin (WR)
Part of last year's 2nd tier of contenders, Rocky was good enough to make the playoffs but suffered a quick 1st round loss, These 4 keepers give him a good jump on the 2022 Draft.
'69 Olds (9-4. # 5)
Keepers: Patrick Mahomes (QB), Darren Waller (TE), Dalvin Cook (RB), Cooper Kupp (WR)
Other Notable Players: Amari Cooper (WR), Brandin Cooks (WR)
Patrick Mahomes killed Ray's chances down the stretch last year. 4 solid keepers put him back in the championship mix for 2022.
Skoal Bandits (7-6. #6)
Keepers: Matthew Stafford (QB), Kyler Murray (QB), George Kittle (TE), Ezekiel Elliot (RB)
Other Notable Players: Tyler Lockett (WR), Jerry Jeudy (WR), James Conner (RB)
The Bandits faded quickly last year after the injury to Kyler Murray. If the core four stay healthy in 2022, they will contend.
Wrath of Kahn (4-9. #7)
Keepers: Justin Herbert (QB), Russell Wilson (QB), Jaylen Waddle (WR), Tyreek Hill
Other Notable Players: Josh Jacobs (RB), DK Metcalf (WR)
Tough season for Jimmy in 2021 was given a boost with late season acquisition of Russell Wilson. All this teams need is some RB's to help compete in 2022. Will a trade need to be made to cut down reliance on Miami receivers?
Tittsburgh Feelers (7-6. #8)
Keepers: Adam Thielen (WR), Joe Mixon (RB), Cordarelle Patterson (RB), Nick Chubb (RB)
Other Notable Players: David Montgomery (RB), Mike Evans (WR), Elijah Moore (WR)
This looks like a lot of 2nd and 3rd tier keepers. I could make an argument to throw everyone bak in an attempt to improve the 2022 rosters. Going zero keepers here would give Jared the 2nd, 4th and 6th overall picks in the draft. Ask Glenn how that worked out for him last year.
Dark Helmet (3-10. #9)
Keepers: None
Other Notable Players: Alvin Kamara (facing a 6-game suspension), Keenan Allen (WR), Clyde Edwards Helaire (RB)
There's a reason this team only won 3 games last year. Throw everyone back!
Mel Kiper's Best Available (3-10. #10)
Keepers: Lamar Jackson (QB), Dak Prescott (QB), Derrick Henry (RB), CeeDee Lamb (WR)
Other Notable Players: Saquon Barkley (RB), Javonte Williams (RB)
Let's see what Pete can do now that he no longer has CMC and Saquon weighing down his roster. Those 2 injury histories doomed him in 2020 and 2021.
