KEEPER RANKINGS
Grade – A
MILFORD FOOTBALL TEAM – Two stud QB’s (Wilson and Allen) Paired with RB Derrick Henry and WR DeAndre Hopkins give MFT a solid base. Another reliable RB and a decent TE will make this team a top 3 pick going into the season. ** Keeper 2nd Guess: I would have probably kept RB Antonio Gibson instead of WR Hopkins. It’s always easier to find a receiver in the later rounds.
’69 Olds – QB Patrick Mahomes is enough to build an entire draft on. But add RB Dalvin Cook, TE Dennis Waller and WR Amari Cooper and you have a start so good even Ray won’t be able to fuck it up. 2nd Guess: I would not have kept Cooper. You could get a WR just as good in the 4th round. Dropping him would give you an opportunity to pounce if one of the good RB2’s or QB 2’s drop.
Grade – A-
You Down With CMC – This grade would have been an A+ if not for the uncertainty surrounding injuries. QB Dak Prescott, RB Saquon Barkley and RB CMC are all coming off major injuries in 2020. Barkley may not be ready for the beginning of the season and Dak Prescott has a bum shoulder. Lamar Jackson will have to improve on his 2020 stats that took a step back from 2019 results. 2nd Guess: None. This was the only way to go.
Black Ghostbusters – Last season’s Champions are bringing back 4 members of the championship crew. Receiver is set with the return of DaVante Adams. Throw-in All-World TE Travis Kelce and RB Jonathan Taylor to balance out the start of the roster. 2nd Guess: An argument could be made to keep WR McLaren overr AJ Brown and keep RB Clyde Edwards Helaire over Jonathan Taylor.
Grade – B
Skoal Bandits – QB Kyler Murray, RB Ezekial Elliot, WR Calvin Ridley and TE George Kittle give the bandits solid coverage across all the skill positions. The only issue will be Kittle’s ability to stay on the field this season. 2nd Guess: None. These four keepers were automatic.
Wrath of Khan – QB Justin Herbert, RB James Robinson and WR’s Tyreek Hill and DK Metcalf are a strong quartet to bring back from 2020. The only potential issue is if Robinson (who was relegated to RB 2 until Etienne’s injury late in camp) and Herbert take a step back in their sophomore seasons. 2nd Guess: None.
Grade – C
Black Charger 22’s -RB Aaron Jones was an automatic pick and Austin Ekeler was… a choice, I guess. Given his injury history and the fact that he is slotted into the #2 keeper slot, I would have probably chose to throw him back and take a shot at drafting Nick Chubb, Najee Harris or Clyde Edwards Helaire in that spot. At worst, you could have drafted Ekeler back with your 2nd round pick. 2nd Guess: see Ekeler above. I am probably being overly negative on Ekeler’s ability, but the guy just doesn’t seem to stay healthy.
Dark Helmet – It starts out well for Dark Helmet with the no-brainer decision to keep Alvin Kamara, but it goes downhill from there. I guess a case can be made for WR Allen Robinson as a 2nd round keeper, but wouldn't you rather have a shot at a difference-making RB? Guys like Anotonio Gibson, Najee Harris or Nick Chubb could be available in the 2nd round, but might night be there in the 3rd.
Grade - Incomplete
Springfield Flanders – Glenn finally came to his senses and dropped Aaron Rodgers post deadline. This will set him up nicely with the # 1/#3/#5/#9/#14 overall picks in the draft. A chance to grab 2 stud RBs and a WR before even thinking about a QB.
Tittsburgh Feelers – Nothing to see here. Jared threw everyone back and it was the right decision. A core of Antonio Gibson, Najee Harris, Keenan Allen and Justin Jefferson is possible. Not. Too. Shabby.
