Thursday Trade Update

It's time for another Thursday trade-talk. Even though we haven’t had any trades, I can sense that some teams are getting antsy and are looking to make a move. With that being said, I will go through a couple of teams and determine what they need and what they can give in a trade based on what I see on the waiver wire as well as some teams trade blocks.

We’ll start with the three obvious choices. CJ, Jim and Jared have designated some of their players as "likely" or "willing" to trade.

· Milford Football Team – CJ has made some of his players available. Any level of talent can be found, from Keepers (TE Mark Andrews and WR Garrett Wilson), Mid-Round Picks (QB Geno Smith) to young emerging talent (RB Kahlil Herbert and WR Nico Collins).

Needs: Upgrade at RB and WR.

What would a potential Trade look like: I would imagine this would be a 2 for 1. The crown jewel of any trade would be TE Mike Andrews. An example of this type of trade would be to go to Rocky who needs a TE. Rocky would have to give up a keeper (Keenan Allen or Amon-Ra St Brown) and CJ would send back Andrews and Nico Collins. It’s a steep price to pay, but Andrews is a top 3 at a position that doesn’t have a lot of depth.

· Wrath of Kahn – Jim is looking to add some consistent RB help. He’s dangling TE Hunter Henry, but I am not sure that is enough to get a deal done. There is not a lot of talent on the bench, so Jim will need to package Henry with RB Breece Hall to upgrade the position. Even though Hall has a lot of promise, I do not think he can be depended on this year based on the mess the Jets offense is in and his limited use as he comes back from ACL injury.

Needs: RB1/WR2/QB2

What would a potential Trade look like: There are some keeper players off to slow starts this year. So maybe see if Dan is interesting in trading Brandon Jacobs for Breece Hall and Hunter Henry. He’s a pats fan, maybe he’ll bite. Jim will get an RB that gets 25-30 carries a game for a guy who will probably see 10-12/game. And all it would cost him is a TE he picked up off the waiver wire.

· Peeping Tomlins – Nick Chubb went down for the year dealing Jared a tough blow. But he still has plenty of RB depth with KW III, Kyren Williams, Joe Mixon. The good news is Nick Chubb only tore his MCL and the ACL is still intact. If that is the case, it is a shorter recovery time and he will probably be ready to go for the start of the 2024 season. If you have the room on your roster and you think you might have a Keeper spot available, he might be worth a stash.

Needs: WR1

What would a potential Trade look like: This one is a little harder to put together. It’s a little early for a team to be throwing up the white flag in Week 4 (I am sure everyone read Tuesday’s LM Note re: historical rankings). Craig has Tee Higgins who is off to a slow start and he may be willing to deal him. How about pairing one of your young WRs (Jordan Addison or George Pickens) with Chubb and Craig can send over Higgins and throw Zack Moss into the trade to balance things out.

I know these trades might not jump off the page at you, but a good trade is one that helps both teams. Nobody is giving you a top 5 player at their position for a piece of trash you snagged off the waiver wire last week.

If you would like to be included in next week’s trade post, be sure to update your trade block before next Wednesday. You can also reply to this post below and tell us who your available players are and what you would be looking for in return. Or, you know. You could make an actual trade proposal to someone. Go ahead, try it. I dare you.
